Volunteer Information

Below are the volunteer opportunities available in the secondary schools.  If you have any questions, or want to sign up for any of the volunteer opportunities below, please contact the Secondary Coordinator, Melissa Lunt at  mr2lunts@msn.com.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

5. Science Fair Volunteers
        We need a few more volunteers to help with the Science Fair.  With the help of all the volunteers you will, collect/organize tables in gym & put back; arrange for judges; help with student check in morning of school fair; help with paperwork at science fair; clean-up after science fair and anything else Mrs. Watson needs; help arrange for other parent volunteers for the fair to help as committees.  Help with science fair forms for both school and district science fair and attend district science fair.
If you are interested in doing more, we'd love to have you go to a few meetings on a District Level (usually held 1x per month at John Hancock Charter School) Keep teachers up to date on science fair info (also attend school meetings with Mrs. Watson)

6. Emergency Preparedness
          We are currently looking for people willing to work on the Emergency Preparedness committee.  We have a registered nurse as our Coordinator and she needs helping hands to work together to come up with an Emergency Plan for the school.  If you can attend meetings and work at home, this is a good fit for you.

7. Secondary Hall/Lunch Monitors
          The secondary school needs parents to walk the halls, check bathrooms and the perimeter of the school during lunch and all class periods.  The administration needs our helping ensuring that the students are where they need to be at all times.  Volunteers will be trained by secretaries what their roles and responsibilities are in regards to helping the students.  You have to be at the school to volunteer for this, but you can choose your day, time and frequency, which allows you much flexibility as you accumulate your volunteer hours.  If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please call the school at 801-794-2226 and select option #3.  Inform the secretaries of the day, time and frequency you will be helping.
